The purpose of the project

We were invited to design a visual representation of the ‘current state’ business architecture incorporating the different layers of the operating structure of the business, which included people, products and services, technology and data. We then gathered information into a single high-level view, which could be used to support senior level discussions in relation to their Target Operating Model.

What we did

We undertook this project over 3 stages:

Stage 1: Taking individual segments of the business, we built a review of the layers mentioned including gathering data relevant to this segment. We then presented our findings to a small group of stakeholders and refined.

Stage 2: We added remaining business segments views using the same format, approach and definitions and then communicated these findings to their various stakeholders and refined.

Stage 3: We collated all information into a single presentation, including related pre-reading and added relevant comparisons and market insight to highlight areas for discussion.

The outcome

Our engagement is still ongoing.
