Designed a Target Operating Model that would achieve £1m saving
The purpose of the project
We were invited to design and develop a new target operating model for the 21st century that would ultimately achieve a £1m saving in their 2019 budget.
What we did
We evaluated the current ‘as is’ model, investigated best practice across related areas and developed a capability matrix. A number of key processes were mapped to ensure that any duplication and/or inefficiencies were understood and identified.
With this information in hand, we then developed a high-level visual to demonstrate customer facing capabilities, operational support capabilities and specialist capabilities. The capabilities were then agreed with the senior leadership team. The organisation design principles were agreed with the umbrella organisation and organisation structures were then developed and shared with their HR department. An implementation plan was developed and handed over to the business lead to execute. During this time, project governance and reporting was completed and shared with the leadership team so they were aware of progress.
Project deliverables were completed to time, quality and on budget and the implementation is now planned to complete very shortly.
